The Linge law firm submits a referral response to the government

The Linge law firm has issued a referral response to the government regarding the Inquiry into improved opportunities for information exchange between authorities, Ju 2023:22.

According to the Publicity and Confidentiality Act, the Notary Public is to be equated with an authority. The activity as a Notary Public thus includes the exercise of authority.

Current legislative matter intends to possibly expand the exchange of information between authorities. An expanded exchange of information can, among other things, be important for authorities’ ability to expand their inspection activities.

The Linge law firm stated that lawyer confidentiality must be protected, and that an extended exchange of information on the part of the Notary Public should only be done with caution, and in compliance with the rule of law.
